Bears In Pana: Day 7

During the meeting it rained so hard that no one could hear the comments (or me) during Congregation Bible Study.
Two brothers moved the lecturn off the stage and into the aisle so I could try and hear better.
Tuesday we concentrated on preparing for the meeting and laid around, trying to feel better. Though it looked like it would rain, we decided to try and walk to the Kingdom Hall. We ended up not taking the shortcut across the river (Leiane wasn't wearing the 'right shoes' *ahem*), and so the walk took nearly twice as long. We arrived in time though, and I spent the ten minutes before the meeting fanning myself, trying to cool down – I had the first part.

Not far into the meeting, Pana let us know that it is the beginning of rainy season. It started gently enough, but before long the downpour on the tin roof was a deafening roar. By the time we started Congregation Bible Study, I could not hear anyone's comments at all; I told the congregation, "I'm going to assume your comments are great, but I can't hear a thing!" After a few paragraphs, a couple brothers moved the lecturn off the stage and into the aisle so I was under speaker and could hear a little better. Oh, and the electricity went out for a moment! Welcome to Panajachel!
